Description
The range of hills on the east side of Glen Feshie forms a long gently undulating plateau which merges further east with the Moine Mhor and the higher slopes of Braeriach and Cairn Toul. At the southern end of this plateau Mullach Clach a' Bhlair rises barely 100 metres above the col at the head of Coire Garbhlach, but it has a commanding position above Glen Feshie, and is the south-western outpost of the Cairngorms.The route to this hill starts at Achlean farm at the end of the public road on the east side of the River Feshie. Go up the glen by a path along the riverside for 4 kilometres to the old pinewood opposite Carnachuin and then follow the bulldozed track uphill to reach the rim of Coire Garbhlach. Continue up the track onto the plateau and southwards towards Mullach Clach a' Bhlair. As the track bears eastwards, leave it and cross a few hundred metres of tundra to the flat summit of the hill.As an alternative to returning to Achlean by the same way, go north past the rim of Coire Garbhlach to Meall Dubhag and Carn Ban Mor and descend the path down Coire Fhearnagan.
